Runes

Warning

This section is under construction and currently incomplete.

Runes are essentially the "equipment" you can give your monsters to make them stronger. Each monster has 6 rune slots (and 2 artifact slots) in which you can engrave them.

Runes follow a few rules:

  • Slot 1 runes always have flat ATK as main stat.
  • Slot 3 runes always have flat DEF as main stat.
  • Slot 5 runes always have flat HP as main stat.
  • Slot 1 runes can not have flat DEF/DEF% as substats.
  • Slot 3 runes can not have flat ATK/ATK% as substats.
  • SPD can be a main stat only on slot 2.
  • CR/CD can be a main stat only on slot 4.
  • ACC/RES can be a main stat only on slot 6.

2/4/6 Notation

  • Since the main stats for slots 1, 3, and 5 are fixed people only care about slots 2, 4, and 6 when talking about monster builds. For example a build with SPD in slot 2 and HP% in slots 4 and 6 would be SPD/HP%/HP% or SPD HP% HP% since a space is faster to type than / on mobile. Additionally the % sign is usually dropped because flat main stats are inferior and should not be used so the example from before will be SPD HP HP.
  • Stats that can appear on any or more than one slot can easily be interchanged, if your Fran is SPD ATK HP or SPD HP ATK does not matter.
  • When reading guides always keep in mind that the only thing that matters are the final stats and that those usually have some room for error. Just because the guide has a SPD ATK ATK Fran does not mean you need to do the same, a SPD HP ATK or even SPD HP HP Fran with less ATK and more HP will also work (and most likely even better).

Ancient Runes

Ancient Runes are a special type of runes that can be farmed in the Dimension Hole. The difference to normal runes is that the initial substats have a higher range of rolls and Ancient Runes can only be grinded and enchanted by Ancient Grindstones and Ancient Enchanted Gems. Rune set bonuses still work even if you mix normal and ancient runes.
