Rift of Worlds

In the rift of worlds you can find 6 battle areas in total, divided into two categories - Rift Raid and Rift Beasts. Even though both are located in the rift of worlds typically when someone says "rift(s)" they mean the Rift Beasts only. Rift Raid is just called "raid".

Rift Raid

Rift Raid is the only area where you can farm grinds and gems for regular rune sets. In Rift Raid three summoners fight the three heads of the Chaos Beast Khi'zar Kha'jul simultaneously. Since version 6.3.4 of the game you can also farm Rift Raid by yourself in repeat battle using three of your own teams.

The Rift Raid battle has a few special mechanics:

  • The heads share one HP bar.
  • Each head has its own attack bar but when a debuff is applied to one of them then that debuff is applied to the other 2 heads as well.
  • Leaderskills are shared between the 3 teams.
  • Team runes (Fight/Determination/etc) are NOT shared between teams.
  • One player can not use more than one of each monster. This means player A, B, and C can all have a Fran in their team but if player A puts 3 teams in singleplayer R5 there can only be one Fran across the 3 teams.
  • Skills scaling on enemy MAX HP are heavily reduced in both Rift Beasts and Rift Raid, do not use monsters that deal most of their damage with such skills (e.g. Sigmarus).
  • The boss has a special attack targeting the front line monsters which has a scaling based on their DEF value, having high defence and not just high HP is therefore recommended.

Rift Beasts

Rift Beasts is where the ally set runes (Accuracy, Determination, Enhance, Fight, Tolerance) and their respective grinds/gems can be farmed. There is one rift beast for each element, each has its own unique mechanic you need to tackle in order to beat it.

  • Water: Freezes your monsters, counteract by filling their ATB.
  • Fire: Has bombs that deal high damage, counteract by bringing AOE.
  • Wind: Reduces your healing, counteract by bringing strong/passive heals.
  • Light: Has a shield, counteract by bringing strong (single hit) DDs.
  • Dark: Imprisons your monsters, counteract by bringing multi-hits.

Tips

  • Most of the Rift Beast gimmicks can easily be circumvented by simply killing them fast enough.
  • Dungeon leaderskills also apply to Rift Beasts (but not to Rift Raid!).
  • Skills scaling on enemy MAX HP are heavily reduced in both Rift Beasts and Rift Raid, do not use monsters that deal most of their damage with such skills (e.g. Sigmarus).
